Training of auditors from SAI North Macedonia and SAI Ukraine at the SAO
SAO Training Centre in Přestavlky, 6–10 October 2025
When Russia invaded Ukraine in 2022, EUROSAI expressed its full support for SAI Ukraine and soon after established the EUROSAI Project Group for Technical Assistance to SAI Ukraine, which aims to monitor the requests of SAI Ukraine and the offers of individual SAIs in EUROSAI to their Ukrainian colleagues. At a multilateral meeting in Kyiv in June 2024 and at the 63rd meeting of the EUROSAI Governing Board in London in October 2024, the Chairwoman of SAI Ukraine asked her foreign counterparts for support in the form of training and exchanges.
In September 2024, the Auditor General of SAI North Macedonia expressed the same wish. In both cases, the SAO President promised to organise a training, and due to the coincidence of both requests, the trainings for both SAIs was combined into one.
The training took place at the SAO training centre in Přestavlky from 6 to 10 October 2025. It was held under the auspices of the EUROSAI Secondment Project, which the SAO leads in EUROSAI.
The event was attended by 25 foreign participants (15 from SAI North Macedonia and 10 from SAI Ukraine), who, under the guidance of lecturers from the SAO, were introduced to the following topics during the training:
- Audit standards and quality assurance of audit activities
- Compliance audit and risk analysis
- Training centre management
- Identification of problems and criteria for performance audit
- BIEP Platform usage options
- Working with data and its visualisation
- International activities and the EUROSAI database
